In a bid to provide better technologically advanced tracking devices for vehicle location and recovery, MatrixVtrack Nigeria Limited, the Nigerian partners to global vehicle tracking leaders Matrix SA, which is involved in the provision of a wide range of telematic solutions, is all set to unveil a new product to the Nigerian market called CrashAlert.

This was disclosed at an event organized by Private Media Mart Limited (PMM) in conjunction with the Nigeria Insurers Association (NIA) tagged ‘InsuranceTechExpo® 2008’ at the Golden Gate, Ikoyi, Lagos on the 7th of October 2008.

In a presentation to a cross section of participants, the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Don Okafor, stated that the new CrashAlert offering is “a product that calls for help when you cant”. While referring to it as a life-saving device, Mr. Okafor also explained; “In the case of any collision with the car where our unit is installed, the unit is triggered immediately and sends an alert because it’s sensor is even more sensitive than that of the vehicle airbag,” he said.

The CrashAlert service, which is an added offering in the existing MatrixVtrack vehicle tracking and recovery system, also includes emergency medical response, medical repatriation, upgrade transfer and roadside assistance (Tow-in). The severity of an accident triggers an alert immediately with the exact position of the vehicle pin-pointed and it is ideal for every vehicle especially during the coming festive period, he added.

The company’s tracking platform utilizes the GSM/GPRS network for earth moving vessels. They also provide turnkey solutions that enable clients gain complete overview and control of their remote assets, integrating software, data and services to provide greater value and drive insightful decisions for business organizations.
The InsuranceTechExpo® event, which also featured a mini-exhibition for ICT solution providers, afforded MatrixVtrack the opportunity to display its unique tracking devices that enhance automobile Insurance business services. Products exhibited by the company included Mxlynx, which serves primarily as a theft recovery device while Mx3 is not only the company’s most advanced tracking system but also a benchmark product in the industry.

MatrixVtrack Nigeria Limited is a registered Enterprise solution provider and a joint venture agreement between Matrix Vehicle Tracking of South Africa and Vtrack Logistics Limited of Nigeria.
